Ahh finally a bolt on solution for the Taig Milling Machine
The traditional Taig Motor uses pulleys to adjust the speed, but if you want on the fly speed adjustment.
Your options were slim.
I went all out and choose a 750 watt Brushless Servo Motor. This equals 1 hp plenty of torque and a non slip belt
No more chewed up skinny taig belts
Like a stepper motor there is lots of torque at lower rpms, I could not stop the motor. I am also little!
Dc Motors, Ac Motors have very little torque at slow speeds
I used aluminum timing pulleys and timing belt for a non-slip drive system.
The spindle speed is 0-8400 rpm
So all you have to do is bolt it on your headstock and u are set
